Mailbox RescueConvert PST to EML
Mailbox Rescue exports every message in a PST or OST file as a standard .eml file, keeping the folder structure. EML files open in almost any email program and are easy to archive, search and hand over.
Steps
- Open the PST or OST in Mailbox Rescue.
- Click Export, keep EML files ticked, and add the spreadsheet index if you want a list of every message.
- Choose where to save. A new folder is created with the EML files, the index and a completeness report.
What does the completeness report show?
For every folder: how many messages the PST says it holds, how many were read, exported and checked, and how many attachments were found and written. Any message that couldn't be exported is listed with the reason.

Do I need Outlook or a Microsoft 365 subscription?
No. Mailbox Rescue reads PST, OST and MSG files directly. Outlook does not need to be installed, and no Microsoft account or subscription is needed.
Is my mailbox uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your PC. The only thing the app ever sends over the internet is your licence key when you unlock the full version.
What does the free version do?
It opens, searches and shows every message, and saves single attachments, without limits. Bulk export stops after 25 messages so you can check the result before you buy.
Is it a subscription?
